About Sahasra Godhamam

Hindu tradition is unique and ancient. In this religion, God is in every creature of this universe and adored in a devotional way. The Vedic scriptures authenticate God is found in every living being.

Among all the species, Cow is the prime animal worshiped by the Hindus. She is regarded as Kamadhenu in Hindu religion.

It is also clear that she holds all the deities in her for which she is renowned as wishing mother in Hinduism.

The cow milk and its products are good for health, is scientifically proven.

Aware of their prominence in the Hindu tradition, Siddhaguru Sri Ramanananda Maharshi is setting up Sahasra Godhamam — literally, “abode of a thousand Cows” — at Shiva Shakthi Shirdi Sai Anugraha Mahapeetam, to tend to these animals with utmost care and protection.

The ashram has Goshala with 257 Cows for which Siddhaguru Sri Ramanananda Maharshi and his devoted volunteers are investing their time, money and effort to protect these cows.

The monetary and in-kind contributions for 257 cows are worth donating, as it earns fruits for every penny contributed here. The cow milk and its products are used in Shiva linga abhisekam, Havana, and annadanam here.

We welcome donations for adoption, construction of shelter, medicines and food for over 1000 cows. Devotees are free to donate monetarily or in-kind in the form of cattle feed like dana, maize atta, cotton and toor powders or medicines.
